At the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where her most recent biographical movie, "Maria," is slated to premiere, Angelina Jolie is making a fashion statement. The 49-year-old actress was photographed posing on Venice's Lido while channeling a Greek goddess. She was decked up in a flowing brown silk dress with her shoulders draped.
Jolie accented her goddess-like look with silver drop earrings and tortoiseshell sunglasses, which complemented her straight, flowing golden blonde hair. Her arrival at the Hotel Excelsior dock was spotted a few hours before the Thursday, August 29 premiere of "Maria."
Jolie arrived in Italy earlier this week, when she was first spotted wearing a trench coat with a belt in khaki hue, black boots, and blue pants. The 'Eternals' actress arrived in Venice on Tuesday, August 27, in anticipation of her movie's premiere.
In the meanwhile, Jolie's ex-husband Brad Pitt is also there for the festival with his latest movie, "Wolfs," which opens on Sunday, September 1. Alberto Barbera, the artistic director of the Venice Film Festival, claims that meticulous planning makes sure Jolie and Pitt don't cross paths while their divorce is still pending. Following her Telluride Film Festival debut with director Pablo Larraín, Jolie will depart right away.
In the film "Maria," helmed by Pablo Larraín, who is also known for "Spencer" and "Jackie," Jolie plays the renowned opera soprano Maria Callas. Haluk Bilginer, Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, and Kodi Smit-McPhee are also in the movie. One of the festival's highlights is the competition schedule, which runs from August 28 to September 7. Larraín has shown enthusiasm about the project, complimenting Jolie on her commitment to playing Callas and the Steven Knight script.
