Kate Middleton Quietly Nods to Princess Diana at the Festival of Remembrance 2024

As it has been routinely for ages, the British royals are expected to take part in the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance held in the Royal Albert Hall each year in honor of celebrating the Armed Forces.

This year Catherine, Princess of Wales, who has kept aloof from the public for most of the year and presented herself to only a limited number of key official engagements, came with her husband Prince William.

Giving due tribute, she donned a black coat dress by Catherine Walker, the designer who dressed the late Princess Diana. It is royal protocol to wear black to all Remembrance Day services and functions.

To complete the evening's outfit, Kate Middleton opted for a black Chanel clutch and replaced the pearl earrings with Collingwood drop pearls once owned by Princess Diana. Also included in the accessories was her late mother-in-law's diamond and sapphire engagement ring.

The earrings were given to the late princess by Collingwood, the jewelry brand popular within the Spencer household.

Many events called for Diana to wear a pearl drop earring, including a special showing of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Starlight Express" at the London Apollo Theatre in 1984 and an evening occasion at the Washington British Embassy in Washington, D.C., in November 1985, a day after she famously danced in a guy named John Travolta's arms in a Victor Edelstein dress.

On another occasion, the deceased princess wore the earrings with the breathtaking Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara since the dangling pearled earrings were similar to the ones enclosed in the tiara.

From time to time, Middleton borrows from Diana's wardrobe and pairs the tiara with the cocaine pearl drop earrings.

The bullied mommy wore the pear of drop earrings for the first time in 2017 during the banquet to commemorate the Spanish state visit hosted at Buckingham Palace.

This coming Sunday, Princess Of Wales, together with other working members of the British Royal Family, will attend the Cenotaph War memorial in central London for the annual Remembrance Sunday service officiated by King Charles.

In their all-black outfits, the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla will view the activity from the Foreign Office building balcony.
