Carly Pearce took a firm stand against disrespect at her recent concert at We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. The 34-year-old Grammy-winning country artist paused her performance on Friday to address and remove a disruptive attendee. Pearce, visibly upset by the comments from the individual, commanded through the microphone, "Somebody get him out of here. I do not want him at my show. Get out of my show." The crowd cheered in support as security escorted the man out.
A video of the incident, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by local radio host Ian Godfrey, shows Pearce pointing out the heckler. She further declared to the audience, "If you're gonna be an asshole, then you're gonna have to say it to me and get the f--- out of my show. I do not have time for dicks. See ya later." Pearce later explained to the crowd that this was the first time she had to send someone away from her show, emphasizing that such mean and disrespectful behavior was unwelcome.
The incident caught more attention when Pearce revealed her father was in the audience, which added to her emotional response. According to additional reports by Godfrey, the man had interrupted Pearce as she began to share personal stories with the crowd, rudely shouting, "no one cares."
Following this confrontation, Pearce is preparing to continue her tour promoting her fourth LP, 'Hummingbird.' The tour promises a lineup of performances across North America and Europe, starting this October. Pearce has described her latest album as a personal healing journey, symbolized by the hummingbird, which represents the onset of healing and good fortune.
