Council Purchases Land for New Health Center

A new medical center for East Sussex has been brought by the council with a new site. Wealden District Council is planning to provide the site for building a new health center for the residents of Polegate and Willingdon as well as to strengthen the health infrastructure in the area.

The provisional planning permission for the health facility on the A272 is already in place as the road is a connection between the two localities, reported the Wealden District Council. Kelvin Williams, the council's lead member for public health and asset management, said that it is important to ensure the health infrastructure development keeps pace with the growing number of residents.

Members of the cabinet approved the conduct of feasibility work in December so as to have the new facility inspected by local health officials.Amy Gaela, the primary health care and care programs director at NHS Sussex, gave her view on the recent process as "a highly positive step" in providing medical services around people's living areas.

However, "Residents have been let down for too long by delays and lack of funds, but now we are making real progress," said the local MP James MacCleary.James MacCleary also stated his desire for the satellite facility to continue to operate in Polegate town center.
