Rapper Fatman Scoop, actual name Isaac Freeman III, had a medical issue on August 30 and passed out on stage during a show at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut. Following his fall, the 53-year-old artist was attended to by medics who administered CPR, as reported by witnesses and verified by video footage making the rounds on social networking sites like X (previously Twitter).
"Isaac Freeman, aka Fatman Scoop, had a medical emergency on stage tonight while performing at Hamden Town Center Park," said Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett on Facebook. Right now, an ambulance is taking him to the hospital. We'll post updates as soon as they're available. Kindly remember him in your prayers and thoughts."
Footage shows Freeman strolling shirtless from the front to the rear of the stage, where he enthusiastically urged the crowd to make noise, and then abruptly collapsing into the DJ booth was captured just after the emergency call was placed at 8:33 p.m. Watching emergency personnel, clearly visible in high-visibility vests, race to help him, concertgoers voiced amazement and alarm.
